This weekend, I made my second journey to Hackney to try the new Plant Hub vegan eatery, co-founded by the well known David Bez and Antonio Alderuccio.

My lunch at Plant Hub was absolutely divine. I had the 'Fly' plant bowl which was beautifully presented, very nourishing and surprisingly filling. All in all, it was a beautiful constructed bowl with greens, perfectly cooked vegetables, filling and creamy sweet humous which was complimented by the tahini dressing. There was a perfect contrast and relation of textures and tastes. The goat's 'cheese' was interesting. It didn't taste like goat's cheese as such, it was obviously coconut but with a cheesy, nutty tang. However, the texture was very alike real goat's cheese, and melted into the dish beautifully. The crumble on the top of the aubergine was a perfect touch.

Both the owners David and Antonio were lovely, they each greeted me personally, an act which I feel really adds to the experience of feeling connected to the place. The staff were also extremely friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. Somewhere between a casual cafe and gourmet dining, It is a lovely spot outside of London with truly good and innovative vegan food, definitely worth the trek if you don't live in Hackney. Again, I am very keen to go back to try their mouth-watering melty burgers, with the most unique blend of flavours or their superior-looking roasts.

'Fly Bowl': £11
